I was tagged by Patricia Woodside. Here are the rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves
2. People who are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules
3. At the end of your blog you need to tag 8 people and post their names
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Here are my eight things:
All my life I’ve been a late bloomer. I didn’t become a Christian until I was twenty-five. I thought saying I believed in God was good enough. A friend of mine died and it made me question where do we go when we die? I didn’t want to be left behind.
I joined the Navy at the age of 17. I wanted to sail the seven seas and see the world. I was in the Navy for six years. I sailed over one sea to get to Guam and I wasn’t in a boat. I never was on a boat the whole time I was in the Navy. I still haven’t been on a boat.
Every now and then it hits me that I’m somebody’s wife and mother. I could be walking up the stairs and it dawns on me, that my dream of being married and having children is real. Marriage and motherhood are hard some days, but it’s the best thing that’s every happen to me.
Seeing my name in print is fantastic. It feels like I’m getting closer to my dream of seeing my book on the shelf. The best ones are those, I didn’t even know would be there. I’m reading an acknowledgement and there my name is with those most heartfelt acknowledgments, and all I want to do is cry.
I can think of everything to do but write some days. It’s like I’m afraid of finishing the book. What is up with that?
When I started SORMAG, I never dream we would last this long or that I would come in contact with some amazing people because of it. Every time I think it’s the end for it, the Lord opens another door for me.
I am a t.v. addict. I tried to stop cold turkey but it never works. I find myself slipping back into my old habits. So this year I’ve decided that this summer I’m giving up t.v. I’m going to hang out in the yard with kids. Do more activities so hopefully I won’t miss the t.v.
I’m also an AVON addict. Have you seen the latest catalogues? They have some cute stuff in there. I find myself wanting more and more. If you want to become an addict, let me know and I’ll send you a catalogue.
Trying to find eight places that haven’t been tagged wasn’t easy, I found six.

Hey great blog you've got here. I found your site cause I was searching the net for blogs on the Navy. My buddy is in the Navy. (see my latest blog entry if you wish to know more.) I am also a Christian and I love to write. I am still in college so I haven't done much with writing besides short stories and poems, but I would love to one day develop this gift.
Hi Lauren,
Thanks for stopping by. This is my first time blogging about the Navy. That's funny how you found me under that.
Where do I find your blog?
The gift of writing is something you have to take time to do. If you truly have a passion for it, you'll make time.
My blog is www.laurengoddard.wordpress.com Granted, its nothing fancy. Just my ramblings :)
And I definitely do love writing. I am going to school to be a high school teacher in English and History, but my real passion is writing. Now that school is out and summer is here, I will have more time and am excited for that.
That is so WEIRD that you were in the Navy but never on a boat!
I can totally relate to the TV addiction, girl. I'm right there with you.

Ha Ha Ha....I know what you mean Lashaunda about the boat thing....yeah I was quickly told when Chris and I first met that it was a ship, never a boat. :) Did you find my blog?
I can't believe you were in the Navy and have never been in a boat. I'm stunned.
Gwyneth (a fellow TV addict)
How can you be on a boat when there are no boats in the Navy?
Ouch! You called me OUT! LOL I loved your eight things. I think there's a book in that eight-years-no-boat thing. :)
love you,
mary
Lauren,
Now you know I've never been on a boat - because I would know to call it a ship.

Thanks for being a good sport, LaShaunda, and playing along. How do you cross a sea without being in a boat while in the Navy? Flying? Sounded like a trick answer.
Thanks for the tag Patricia.
Yep I flew.
